PBC World Cup sweepstake money goes to charity!

We hope you all enjoyed the exciting World Cup final last night.  PBC are pleased to announce that the total winnings of £55 from our office sweepstake will be going to Gemma Dearsley at the Lighthouse Centre who was lucky enough to draw both Argentina and France!

PBC also have 2 charity events already planned for next year to help raise more money for this very worthwhile cause.  Details to follow shortly!

PBC Charity Golf Day

Many thanks to everyone who supported us at this event – so far we have raised an amazing £1956.25 for Gemma Dearsley The Lighthouse Centre. It would not be so successful without the continued support of our valued contacts.

All of the photos taken on the day by Helen Tisbury – Brand Photography Expert – many thanks Helen for providing your services free of charge for the charity. I have sent a link to the players to enable them to purchase downloads of pictures – all proceeds go straight to the charity.

A great days golf and the weather was kind to us! See you all next year.

PBC Charity Quiz

Last night, Wednesday 11 May 2022, 18 teams of business professionals and the like took part in their very own episode of ‘The Chase’ otherwise known as the PBC Charity Quiz! All attendees enjoyed a burger, the odd pint of something cold and a few belly chuckles along the way!

PBC’s chosen charity is currently ‘The Lighthouse Centre’ which provides holistic treatments to patients with long-term medical conditions or cancers, supporting their quality of life at a time of vulnerability. Gemma Dearsley, the charities founder is well known around Northamptonshire and we are proud to support her and the work she does. I am pleased to announce the night raised in excess of £1,500 for The Lighthouse Centre which will be greatly appreciated.

The overall winners were DFA Law, a hugely deserved achievement with some tough questions requiring a range of knowledge, particularly about boy band members and children’s TV characters! Well done to the team. To avoid any (possible) embarrassment we will not publish the overall scoring, but individual teams are welcome to contact us if they want to satisfy their curiosity over their results.

Finally, a big thank you to the team at PBC – Lisa Parker (organiser and general good egg), Gary Pettit (boss) , Jamie Cochrane (quiz master), Ian Cooke (main party doner), Nick Bonser (caterer), Natasha Pink (chief score counter), Claire Goodacre (entertainer), Jenny Gent (collections agent 1), Nicole Anderson (chief marker) and Grace Carter-Hands (collections agent 2) for their hard work in making the event run smoothly! Remember, we’re not just good at quizzes – we also give good advice

PBC Charity Golf Day

Amazing Weather, Great Golf and an excellent course at Overstone Park Resort led to an entertaining and enjoyable PBC Business Recovery & Insolvency Golf Day raising funds for Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity

Working with the club and maintaining Covid regulations we were able to put on the PBC Business Recovery & Insolvency annual golf day hosting 36 players. 10 teams over a 2-tee start saw some impressive individual and team scores. The Nearest the Pin competitions were eagerly fought out and there was a great take up for the charity hole on the tricky 17th

Congratulations to the winners:

Nearest Pin on 4th was Richard Burkimsher
Nearest the pin in 2 on 15th was Philip Gale
Charity Hole winner was Andrew Hasker

DFA Law LLP came into the day as reigning team ball champions as well as Paul Currie defending his individual title. The team did not disappoint again this year taking the team competition. Paul Currie was in contention to win his second title but was narrowly beaten by his teammate Danny Roberts. Congratulations Danny.

Who can loosen the DFA Law LLP grip next year?

Thank you to all those who attended and made it such a fantastic day. Once we have been able to tally up the final total raised for Charity, I will let you know.
